KAT's Hybrid-electric, Propane-fired Trolleys - 12/7/03
Knoxville Area Transit (KAT) is definitely a leader in alt fuels in East TN--they have their own Clean Fuels Program--and these trolleys are their second step into alt fuels (the first was dedicated-propane vans, the third will most likely be the use B20 in larger buses). These trolleys are from Ebus, and will run on two fuels: electricity and propane. The batteries can be plugged in directly to charge them, and the turbine runs on propane which also charges the batteries. Lastly, the regenerative braking system utilizes braking energy to charge the batteries. Hybrid efficiency and alternative fuel... a super combination.

Fun Buggies in Pigeon Forge, TN - 9/16/03
These pictures are of some of the NEVs that Fun Buggies has at their Pigeon Forge location (they also have a Gatlinburg Location). Fun Buggies rents the NEVs to provide a more fun (in addition to pollution-free) way to move around the Pigeon Forge area. See for yourself.

Little River Round-up in Maryville, TN - 4/12/03
The Little River Round-up is hosted annually by the Little River Watershed Association and Keep Blount Beautiful. The event is about educating citizens to the environmental issues in Blount County and celebrating the beauty that Blount County has to offer.

Regional Environmental Conference in Greeneville, TN - 3/05/03
East Tennessee's annual Regional Environmental Conference was a great place to share alt fuels information! Made lots of contacts and enjoyed great presentations on the Early Action Compacts, review of TDEC's operations, and Eastman's waste and air pollution reduction measures.

The ETCFC's borrowed Honda Civic GX
During January and February 2003, The ETCFC borrowed a Honda Civic GX for several weeks to show to stakeholders and utilize as a rolling billboard for the coalition. It was a success!
