New B20 Fueling Stations Open in East
Tennessee
Three Mr. Gas Texaco stations in east
Tennessee have begun offering biodiesel fuel to local customers.
The
fueling stations in both Alcoa and Newport sell B20, a fuel blend of 20 percent
biodiesel and 80 percent standard petroleum diesel, while the station in Loudon
offers 100 percent biodiesel.
The effort to bring biodiesel fuel to the
region was led by McNutt Oil.

New Ethanol Plant Opens in West
Burlington, IA
Local Iowa television station WQAD
recently reported the opening of a new $55-million ethanol production facility
in the city of West Burlington.
According to facility manager Edgar
Seward, the Big River Resources ethanol plant is expected to generate enough of
the alternative fuel in one year's time "to fill 30 million cars with 10-percent
blend one time."
In addition to proving a boon to local corn growers,
WQAD said the new plant will create 34 new employment opportunities.

IOC to Power Buses with HCNG
Blend
IndiaExpress recently reported that the
government-owned Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) plans to launch a 1-billion-rupee
(about $22.7-million) "Hydrogen Blue Print" initiative that will include the use
of a hydrogen and compressed natural gas (CNG) fuel blend (HCNG) to power the
company's bus fleet.
According to the newspaper, IOC plans to produce
hydrogen at either its Mathura or Panipat refinery.
"No engine
modification is needed if eight to 10 percent of hydrogen is mixed with CNG,"
said IOC chairman M S Ramachandran. "We plan to mix hydrogen and CNG in a one to
10 ratio and use the doped fuel to run our buses at either of the refineries on
an experimental basis."
The newspaper noted that IOC expects to begin
operating an initial set of buses with HCNG by next year.
